Dunree opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when Damien Nixon’s shot was blocked but the ball fell to Thomas Mulhern and he blasted to the bottom corner from the edge of the area.The remainder of the half saw defences on top and few chances created.Carrowmena went close on the restart when Gordon Campbell fired just over from thirty yards.Dunree replied with Neil Moran jinking past three defenders and setting up Mulhern but his effort was saved by Michael Noone. Dixon then had another clear chance blocked by a defender before in the final minute Carrowmena almost snatched a point when following a corner Campbell headed just over.
Moville Res 5-0 Illies Res
Played in excellent conditions the home side got off to a dream start when they opened the scoring on 8 minutes when Oran McDermott released Kevin McDermott who squared to Conor Mclaughlin to sidefoot home from six yards past John Grant.Illies replied and Graeme Doherty had an effort from twenty five yards well saved by Sean McGuinness.Moville increased their lead on 35 minutes after Benny Mullan’s cross deceived Grant and sailed to the net.They got off to a great start on the resumption also when McDermott crossed to the back post where Conor Lafferty headed to the bottom corner.On 65 minutes Daniel Murphy played Kevin McDermott clear and he slid the ball low past Grant to make it four.They completed the scoring on 81 minutes when Eunan McDaid pulled the ball back to Enda Faulkner who hammered to the roof of the net.Illies were denied a consolation late on following a corner when the ball was blocked an amazing five times before being cleared by the defence.
Moville Res 2-0 Carrowmena Res
Despite dominating the entire game Moville took 80 minutes to break down the Carrowmena defence with keeper Peter Faulkner in top form.On 12 minutes the home side went close after Nicole Ryan crossed for Gearoid McQuillan but his header was well saved by Faulkner. Midway through the half Christy McGeoghaghan fired in a twenty yards effort which Faulkner again saved well.On the stroke of half time Kevin McDermott fired in a powerful shot which crashed off the post.On the hour Benny Mullan’s corner found McQuillan but his header was tipped onto the bar by Faulkner.They brok the deadlock on 81 minutes when substitute Gerard Gill’s quick free released Danny Murphy who squared for Kevin McDermott to fire home from ten yards.Five minutes later Gill sealed the points when he beat a defender before firing a powerful shot past Faulkner from ten yards.
Dunree Res 1-3 Culdaff Res
This was a crucial game in the destination of the group and now Culdaff know they need to defeat Moville to qualify for the semi finals. They took the lead in fortunate circumstances when an attempted clearance rebounded off Brendan Lafferty to the net in the 10th minute.Dunree got back on terms on 32 minutes when Thomas Mulhern headed over keeper George Houten from twenty yards.Culdaff regained the lead before the break when Niall Gordon turned sharply in the area and fired to the roof of the net.Culdaff continued on top and Gary Collins twice fired wide when in good positions. Lafferty then fed Niall McLauglhin on the edge of the area but he failed to hit the target.Culdaff sealed the winner on 81 minutes when substitute Eugene McLaughlin ran onto Stuart McKeague’s through ball to fire low to the net from fourteen yards

Carrowmena had the first effort on 2 minutes when a free kick found Ryan Killen but he fired over from twelve yards.Ten minutes later the visitors took the lead when Conor Keddy crossed for Niall Mclaughlin to slot home from close range.On the half hour they doubled their lead when Stuart McKeague released McLaughlin and he fired low past Seamus Bovaird from the edge of the area.McLaughlin completed his hat trick when he rounded two defenders before slotting low to the net on 43 minutes.On the stroke of half time Niall Gordon picked up a poor clearance and drilled a low shot to the bottom corner from the edge of the area.They continued to press after the break and were unlucky when Dale Hutchinson had an effort crash off the crossbar.Carrowmena replied with Michael Carey having an effort saved by George Houten before Houten failed to collect Killens free but George Brennan failed to convert the opportunity.Culdaff completed the scoring on 88 minutes when Eugene McLaughlin advanced to the edge of the area and fired low to the bottom corner.

Played in very blustery conditions chances here were at a premium as the home side dominated for long periods but failed to create clear chances.Both Thomas Mulhern and Damien Dixon fired wide from good positions as the first half ended scoreless.Illies tried to responjd on the restart but the closest they came was when Graeme Doherty fired over from the edge of the area.The home side made the breakthrough on 75 minutes when Henry Connolly released Dixon and he ran clear to shoot low past John Grant from ten yards.Dixon should have clinched it on 86 minute but he shot wide from a similar position.
