Aileach replied and got back on terms when Conor Gallagher’s corner was not held by John Grant allowing Stephen Doherty to slot the loose ball home from close range. Aileach took the lead on the stroke of half time when Doherty ran onto a long ball and lobbed Grant from  fifteen yards. In the second period  things were tight  until midway through the half when Joe McDaid saw his thirty yards effort crash off the post. Aileach replied with Gallagher seeing his effort well saved by Grant low to his right. Illies tried to press in the closing stages but the Aileach defence with Mark McLaughlin and Gregory Doherty in good form stood firm.
